Novis Artis is a decorative and digitally printed PVB interlayer film. Artwork, pattern or gradient is printed onto the interlayer and then sealed between glass plies, so the image is protected by the glass itself and carries the full safety performance of a PVB laminate.

Overview
Artwork laminated inside the glass.
Printing on the interlayer rather than on the glass surface solves the durability problem that limits decorative glazing. Once laminated, the artwork is enclosed — it cannot be scratched by cleaning, degraded by UV, or damaged during installation.
Artis suits work where the glass is the design element: feature partitions, branded entrances, gradient facades, and privacy glazing where a pattern replaces a frosted finish.
Because the print sits inside a safety laminate, decorative glass built with Artis can be used in locations where standard decorative glass cannot — balustrades, overhead glazing and partitions subject to impact requirements.

Full-colour digital print
Photographic imagery, gradients, patterns and brand artwork, printed to the interlayer before lamination.
Safety glazing performance
Retains post-breakage fragment retention, so decorative glass can be used where impact safety is required.
Pattern instead of frost
Achieves privacy with a designed pattern rather than an acid-etched or sandblasted finish, and without the cleaning problems of an etched surface.

How is printed PVB different from printing directly on glass?
Ceramic frit printing is fired onto the glass surface and is durable but limited in colour range and effectively permanent at the point of firing. Digital print on the interlayer gives full photographic colour, is sealed inside the laminate rather than exposed, and does not require a firing step in the glass line.
What artwork do you need to produce a printed interlayer?
Vector or high-resolution raster artwork at final size, with bleed, plus the glass build-up it will be laminated into. The build-up matters — the substrate glass and total thickness both shift how the printed colour reads in the finished panel.
Can printed interlayer be used in balustrades and overhead glazing?
Yes, and this is the main advantage over surface-decorated glass. Because the print sits inside a PVB safety laminate, the finished panel retains post-breakage fragment retention and can be specified where impact safety governs.
How consistent is colour across a large project?
Colour is proofed against a laminated sample of the actual build-up before production, and the approved proof governs the run. Matching to a printed swatch alone is unreliable, since the glass changes the perceived result.
