What we supply

Two families, one standard

AlphaClear Ventures develops and supplies Novis, its own brand of specialty films for the glass and metal industries — PVB interlayers that make laminated safety glass, and protection films that carry finished surfaces through fabrication, transport and installation.

Every Novis film is produced to AlphaClear specification, checked on receipt, and batch-tested before dispatch. Test data travels with the consignment, and every roll carries a batch reference that can be traced if a question arises on your line.

Why the interlayer matters

Broken, but still in the frame

A PVB interlayer bonds two glass plies under heat and pressure. When the glass breaks, fragments stay adhered to the film instead of falling — which is the entire safety case for laminated glass, and the reason it is specified overhead, underfoot and at the edge of a drop.

That behaviour is governed by adhesion control, not by thickness. Too much adhesion embrittles the laminate; too little lets fragments release. Novis Aura is supplied with controlled adhesion so processors reach consistent post-breakage retention without fighting the autoclave cycle.

Laminated glass fractures — but the fragments stay bonded to the interlayer rather than falling. The amber showing through the cracks is the PVB layer doing the work.

Quality

How a Novis roll reaches your line

Five steps, in order, from specification to release. Nothing ships against a failed batch record.

  1. 01

    Specification

Every Novis grade is defined by AlphaClear against the end application — interlayer clarity and adhesion for laminated glass, peel strength and weathering life for protection films.

  2. 02

    Incoming inspection

Each lot is checked against its specification on receipt: thickness, width, appearance and surface condition, before it enters stock.

  3. 03

    Batch testing

Samples are drawn per batch and tested for the properties that matter to the process the film feeds — adhesion, haze and moisture for PVB; peel, elongation and residue for protection films.

  4. 04

    Traceability

Every roll dispatched carries a batch reference. If a question arises on the line, the batch record and retained sample can be pulled and reviewed.

  5. 05

    Release

Material is released for dispatch only against a passing batch record. Test data is available to buyers on request.
